Apparently everyone can easily recognize PGA Tour Champions golfer, Bernhard Langer, even in disguise. During the Constellation Furyk & Friends Tour event last week, he attempted to prank fellow Champions players in a disguise as a maintenance worker. His overall disguise was pretty good, but as soon as he started talking most players knew who he was right away.
The video features the eventual winner, Phil Mickelson, and tournament host, Jim Furyk. Former professional athlete, Tim Tebow, and Irish golfer, Pádraig Harrington, also made an appearance in this short prank video.
This video was a great way for the PGA Tour Champions league to introduce themselves to a younger audience. They follow in the footsteps of the European Tour who has one of the best professional golf YouTube channels. The Europeans have several prank videos (using actors) and challenges worth checking out.
The PGA Tour channel definitely has their work cut out for them now that the Champions Tour channel is getting in on the creative YouTube game. Both channels have a lot to learn from the Europeans as these types of videos are a great way to grow the game and garner interest in their players and tournaments.
Stay tuned as I plan to create a list of my favorite golf YouTube channels in the near future. I already have several I know I will share in my list, but if you have any suggested golf channels to check out let me know in the comments below.
